History
Twin Lakes Pool & BBQ was founded in 1974, when Earl Snapp started a one-man, single-truck pool cleaning business with the help of a small loan from his mother. He often worked from sunrise to sunset in the field, then returned at night to complete paperwork.
After working by himself for a few years, Snapp decided he wanted Twin Lakes Pool & BBQ to grow into a larger company. So in 1978, he opened a small retail store, along with the ever-growing pool cleaning business, in Cooper City. As the years progressed, so did Twin Lakes Pool & BBQ. The company eventually outgrew its small facility, so Snapp decided to relocate nearby to accommodate and expand the business.
In 2010, Twin Lakes Pool & BBQ had four separate departments with more than 30 employees.
Products and Services
The company carries AquaCal heat pumps, AutoPilot salt chlorine generators, Hayward pool pumps, filters, heaters, cleaners, controls, lighting and salt chlorination, Rico Rock waterfalls and waterfeature products, Weber Grills, Ducane Grills, Vita Spas, pool/spa chemicals, motors, propane and more.
The business also builds new custom pools, handles complete renovations, provides services including pool surface skimming, pool brush and vacuum, skimmer and trap emptying, filter backwash and cleaning, water addition and chemistry testing and treatment.
Its repair professionals are trained to handle leaks, heaters, pumps, motors, filters, lights, fiberoptics, Autopilot, Jandy link and Gold Line electronic control systems.
