A ratio of 150-200% of the square footage of pool water surface is required. An average 20 x 20 foot pool has 400 square feet of water surface. This size would require approximately 800sf of concrete decking surface. What about maintenance? Steel wire mesh and tubing acts as reinforcement and actually makes the deck stronger. As cool water is pumped through the tubing during installation of the freshly pour concrete this promotes a much stronger finished deck.
