History
H & H Pool Services is owned by David Hawes and his wife, Paulette. The company's name stands for "His & Hers" and was passed down to Hawes by his parents, who began work in the pool industry more than 30 years ago.
The first Hawes couple first ran a clean-up company, working on job sites after the gunite crew finished the pool. That first was called H & H Pool Clean-Up.
Later, the family changed its name to H & H Pool Center when the couple opened up a pool supply store in Newark, CA, near the San Francisco Bay.
As a young man, David Hawes worked part-time for his parents. In 1971, he launched his own business after signing on his first service account. To this day, he still counts that account among his clients.
