History
Chemex Pool and Spa Supplies first opened in 1978 next to the Tri-County Flea Market in Smithtown. The owners and operators of Chemex Pool and Spa Supplies opened with the vision of filling a need for a local pool chemical store that would carry the necessities for homeowners.
Chemex Smithtown slowly increased its product line to include not just chemicals, but a full line of tools for the pool, as well as toys, games, filters and pumps.
In 1989, Chemex opened its second location in Hauppauge.
Products and Services
Chemex carries green products including Hayward Dual Speed Super Pump, Pentair's Intelliflo Pump, Aquacomfort Heat Pump, Sunstar spa covers, solar heaters, robotic cleaners, filter cartridges, cover pumps, chlorinators, chlorine alternatives, pool and spa chemicals, filters, pumps, pool alarms, liners, pool ladders, steps and a variety of replacement parts for Hayward, Polaris, Aquabot and other brands.
In-store services include free water analysis, Polaris and Dolphin cleaner repair, filter cleaning, Loop-Loc safety cover service, and in-ground liner installation.
