History
In 1929, A.J. Barto started a local coal and fuel oil delivery service. His son, Alex R. Barto, took over the company in the late 1960s. To balance out the seasonality of the oil business, the company eventually became known as Sylvan Pool Inground Warranty Service Dealers; Barto Pool Service was thus founded in 1970.
As hot tubs migrated east from California, Barto Pools became one of the earliest spa dealers in the area. While Barto no longer does warranty work for Sylvan, and no longer delivers oil, the business does service most brands of pools and spas.
Now managed by third-generation owners (and siblings) Jeff and Amy Barto, the company remains deeply rooted in the community as sponsors of the Make-a-Wish Foundation, as well as many other organizations.
Products
Barto carries aboveground pools by Cornelius, Wilbar International and Aquasphere/ Vogue, a complete line of Marquis Spas, and used hot tubs. In addition to a full line of backyard products, the business offers a range of services for in-ground and aboveground pools and spas, including openings, closings, drain and cleaning services, maintenance, repair, parts and supplies.
